I am a Connecticut native, graduate of local schools and a 1974 graduate of Tufts University and a 1977 graduate of The National Law Center, The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
I grew up on the family dairy farm and I worked on dairy farms and in the construction trades as my father before me until I graduated from law school. I very much understand what it is to work for a living with your hands and back.
From 1977 to 1979 I was an associate attorney at Pinney Payne, a large Danbury law firm. From 1979 to 1984 I was an associate attorney at the Danbury Connecticut office of Kelley, Drye & Warren, a large New York law firm.
In February 1984, I started my own law practice in Danbury. Soon thereafter, I began to attract and litigate serious personal injury and wrongful death matters. Over the last 20 plus years, I have served as plaintiff’s counsel for the seriously injured or the families of those killed in a variety of accident situations: airplane, automobile, boats, motorcycles, dog bites, construction, slip and falls and intentional torts.
In the late 1980’s, I represented a close friend in a very serious litigation matter who always called me “Bulldog Bennett”. He told me that he wanted a lawyer who was just like a bulldog; relentless and determined.
The nickname became quite popular and I believe well earned on my part. A bulldog is exactly what is needed when representing injured individuals or the families of those who have been killed by negligence of others.
Unlike other attorney websites, I do not have a representative case section. Each injury or death is unique and each person is unique. Our concept of preparation, presentation and valuation has worked well in the past for our clients. I can state that I have been plaintiff’s counsel on numerous files with either very substantial settlements or verdicts over the last 20 years. Client references and settlement/verdict results are available upon request.
The statistics in Connecticut are that 96% of all civil litigation settles prior to judgment by a judge or jury. The better the preparation and presentation, the higher the valuation for settlement or trial.
I understand that representing you would be my privilege and, once retained, I have a high duty to help you to the best of my abilities. My wonderful wife and I have two great sons who are graduates of The United States Naval Academy and are currently Marine Corps ground officers. They have taught me a great deal about duty. In my life, my family is most important. I am sure you feel the same way about your family. The practice of law is a great profession. I very much enjoy being an attorney for individuals in their time of greatest need. I know I have made a real difference in the lives of my clients and their families.
I understand that you are looking for a qualified and aggressive attorney to represent you. I believe that I have the background, personality, stamina and experience to aggressively represent you against the insurance companies and those individuals and corporate entities responsible for your injuries.
If you would like to meet confidentially to discuss your case at no obligation at your home or my office, I would welcome the opportunity to do so.
Thank you for visiting my website and I hope I have the honor and privilege of meeting you in person. With sincere best wishes to you and your family I remain.
Sincerely,
David F. Bennett
